Belivers should not practice SIN.
Christians had fallen into a worlds universality theory of Christianity and takes scripture light hearted, where sin is often compromised by excuse of grace saying grace is sufficient to cover our sins.
Ye understand that evangelisation consists of two part, first is salvation which is free gift from God if you receive it, then edification that is changing those believers to Christ likeness (2 Tim 3:16-17) and this process needs to be done by us through works (James 2,3). There is no excuse to say you can keep covering your sins by grace after accepting Christ, but repent (be sick of sin) everyday (by practicing not to sin) and growing to be like Christ.
Paul speaks to mortify sin, as mortifying sin is not completely killing sin infact Paul uses it in terms of deadening sin which is making it paralyse, which is achived by resisting sin daily and practicing richeousness through spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them. -James 4:17
We study scripture and brings to remember of good things God has revealed to us but if we hide it in our heart and do nothing then we are not producing fruit of richeousness infact all had turned there ways to eatching ears (majority of Christians) all like truth on surface but can’t take its roots. If you speak of christs glory, his incarnation, celebration, beliefs in Christ, etc… all is acceptable by church attendees and when you starts dealing with basics of Christianity to build true biblical faith in belivers by repentance, identification of Sin, scantification process, etc… it makes there life hard as they won’t like it, as Christ said many will come but few are chosen. Hard heart or temporary emotional beliefs in God does not bring oneself to Christ but an deception.
Understanding own Position
Saved person lives and produces fruit according to spirit (love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control -Galatians 5:22-23) where as unsaved person lives according to flesh (Galatians 5:19-21 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God). These passages convects our heart to resists Sin and not to live according to it (Read more).
Just reading scripture doesn’t makes us belivers as knowing scripture will build our faith at initial stage and regular recalling scripture will keep us in track but not every one who reads bible understands it well as “faith without works is dead and works without faith is also dead“. Statics says people who read remembers 10% of it, who listen remembers up to 20% of it and people who do it they remember up to 90% of what they do. So to say you are true beliver you have to cross check yourself according to God’s standard. Salvation is free gift but obtained by true faith only by trusting Jesus Christ as our saviour whole heartedly in repentance.
God is a righteous judge, a God who displays his wrath every day. –Psalm 7:11
Tremble and do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent. -Psalm 4:4
We need to know our acts and bring in-front of God every day at least at silent bed time and as to ask God to reveal our sins which he hates, so we may come in light and start fixing it.
Sanctification is work of God but mortification of Sin should be done by us and only spirit filled person can do it through spirit which dwells in beliver, so no glory is taken by beliver but all to Him who works in us. One who comes to Christ and does not take the process of Scantification (becoming like Christ) should always be questioned, what he knows about Christ and God’s will is? As this clarifies there state of mind and heart in relation to salvation.
Don’t have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. – 2 Tim 2:23-24.
Speaking word of God always brings some discourse some times it is good and some times bad so be ready to get vulnerable as you are exposed more to others by your Christian works you may get hard times regularly and enjoy your persecution as world hated Christ before you how evil can’t hate you, if you are living very comfortable within unbelieving world then there is something wrong with your spiritual life as Christians are happy with God and content in this world not to worldly things nor things that makes them to lust.
You watch TV ? Even though you don’t watch porn or R rated movies and still be content with non-godly serials or movies or documentaries still you are captivated to world and bring pain to God.
When you say someone one not to get angry and they argue by saying “Jesus got angry so I got angry” and they belive it is good in there eyes. In fact I say misinterpreting scripture is blasphemy, using scripture for covering Sin is a lie from devil.
Some more arguments by few saying not to celebrate Christmas or Good Friday or Easter as they are paigan which is a very carnal argument.
And some say if you are not feeling holy or worthy then don’t go to church which is lie from devil as in light of scripture reveals by worshiping with belivers is first step of your obedience shown to God.
More arguments are raised but we belivers need to hold peace and express truth and if they quarrels hard be ready to take.
Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life. And then I will be able to boast on the day of Christ that I did not run or labor in vain. -Philippians 2:14-16
Finally we need to do our work without argument and complaining
Complaining is found in most of people life, we complian our grieves, circumstances, etc.. As Christians we need to taking example of Christ in our situation, his sufferings which he took cross for our sin even unto his death without complain.
Is God pleases with our complains about circumstances?
Looking into Old Testament, Israel also complained too much even after God showing his mercy to his chosen people by taking out from slavery.
Numbers 11:1 1 And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp. Concern is event though we were not be burnt in fire literally as Isralites but still be subjectable to lord for displeasing him by defiling his word and HolySpirit which is dwelling in us (belivers).
We complain because we expect too much within us (things viewed and driven from own self desire). We expect to fill our carnality and by failing we express our displeaseness to other.
Paul declares in, Philippians 2:13-14, For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings. These energising scriptures has more to do with God’s enablement than with our resources. HolySpirit that dwells in belivers enables to build holy life which is pleasing to God and cooperation unto him produces a transformation in our conduct that is essential in maintaining a good testimony in the world.
Ask and analyse oneself before God through scripture to reveal our way and to correct it 2 Tim 3:16-17.
